Liquid Zeolite- Why I No Longer Promote It by Shelley Penney

Waiora Liquid Zeolite NCD Scam (the Multi-Level Marketing company)

Why I No Longer Sell It ~by Shelley Penney

zeolite scamI am a registered nurse (retired) and have been a huge promoter of the MLM liquid zeolite product for several years now. I always try and act in integrity with my values. I feel mission driven to make a difference in the lives of others, and I will do everything in my power to do what is right. If I cared more about money than I do about people then I wouldn't be be writing this letter, however, with credibility on the line… here I am.

There are Waiora distributors, on the internet, saying I've 'waded into the mud', that I was disgruntled, and insinuating I am unscrupulous.

Well, I did become 'disgruntled'. I think any ethical and moral person would if they were to discover what I did. The ONLY people saying I am unscrupulous are the people making a fortune from people like you by selling water with little bits of zeolite in a bottle.

Waiora Natural Cellular Defense- Liquid Zeolite Tests

About a year ago, someone showed me a test done by an independent lab that received the sample from  Zeo Health, on the MLM liquid zeolite product that I was promoting. The test, which you can view for yourself here   (scroll down to the section marked 'dosing' and click to see the actual report) showed that there was a lot less zeolite in the product I believed in and was promoting. An independent lab took 10 bottle of the MLM liquid zeolite and let the water evaporate. In 10 bottles of product there was only 2.3 Grams or 2300mg of solids in the 10 bottles. This liquid zeolite brand claims to have 2400 mg of zeolite in each bottle.

After I saw that test, I had a conversation with my business partner, and told him I was going to have the product tested to ease my mind about the results. The reason I wanted to do this is because I have been the voice of the liquid zeolite product on the internet for several years now. I've put my name and my reputation on the line, and I felt that this test was probably not true, based on the fact that it was done by a competitor.

My contact said that he would see to getting the test done, as he wanted to know himself as well, for peace of mind. So I found an independent lab and he delivered a bottle of the product for testing. That's right WE ACTUALLY SENT A BOTTLE TO BE TESTED.

What Did The Liquid Zeolite Test Results Show?
Waiora Scam

The first result that we received showed an unfavorable result of many times less zeolite in the product than was on the bottle. When Rik Deitsch, the consultant scientist for the company that produces the liquid zeolite (Waiora) was shown the result, he said that they use 'hydrated zeolite' and dehydrating the product would not yield an accurate test result. He gave very specific directions, that he claimed would generate an accurate result, as long as there was no forced drying.

When we got the result of the second  test of the liquid zeolite back it showed that there was only 27 mg of solids in the entire bottle. The bottle with a label that claims there is 24mg of zeolite per DOSE (2400 mg per bottle)!  Here is the test. I have blurred out the name to maintain the privacy of the people involved. NCD2011 liquid zeolite test

Note: The is currently a Class Action- Lawsuit underway that addresses these tests. See the Class Acion Lawsuit Details

liquid zeoliteI spoke with  the owner of the Multi-Level Marketing brand liquid zeolite company, and sent him the test on liquid zeolite that we had done. He spoke with the scientist consultant (Rik Deitsch) for the company, and sent me his response by email.

The response stated that zeolite is 'hydrated' by nature and that dehydrating it would yield an inaccurate result. He also stated that he did add water to the zeolite to form a 'slurry'. It is the slurry that he measures for the bottle, not the zeolite.

While I was waiting for the results of the test, I found another test online, done by a company in Australia. They did a test on the "American" MLM liquid zeolite and found 300mg in 4 bottles which means they found 75mg per bottle average.  See that test here – #17 ZeoActiv8.pdf

Liquid Zeolite Tests Waiora Scam

So to recap-

  1. Zeohealth test found 2300 mg of solids in 10 bottles of mlm brand liquid zeolite for a total of 230 mg in each bottle. (only 67% of that was clinoptilolite by the way).
  2. ZeoActive8 (An Australian company) found 300mg in 4 bottles MLM brand liquid zeolite for a total of 75mg each bottle.
  3. NCD liquid zeolite test found 27mg  of solids in a bottle. We didn't even bother to ask for an analysis of the solids because it was such a teeny amount)

Here is the label from the bottlezeolite scam

Many of us promoted the liquid zeolite based on the number of independent clinical studies that were said to have been done. (14 according to the website). To date only one study has been published, but even that clinical trial wasn't independent. It was done by the consultant for the MLM company, Rik Deitsch, and his cousin James Flowers, who also was manufacturing the liquid zeolite product.

To make matters worse, Health Canada (Canadian version of FDA) called me because they had been on some of my websites, to inform me that The zeolite autism study which I had been told was taking place in the States using the same MLM liquid zeolite, and was in it's second or third year, did not exist! The link to the study website is gone and now redirects to a website that sells liquid zeolite (grrrrr!!)

On this page entitled "My Advice- Don't Drink Liquid Zeolite" by Jonathan Campbell, he gives some good reasons to stop and consider liquid zeolite.  He says "If you do decide to use a zeolite product for detoxification, get a powdered product, not a liquid." I certainly don't feel the liquid product is harmful to health but I find it interesting that he actually comes out in favor of zeolite powder. Jonathan isn't selling zeolite like everyone else (including me) who has a review on the internet.

Jonathan Campbell has also sent a testimonial to one powdered zeolite company. You can read his zeolite powder testimonial  by clicking here.

Below I did a quick video to show you what 2000 mg of zeolite LOOKS like.  Take 3 minutes to watch.

Important Points About Cleaning Zeolite

Many zeolite companies on the market use commercial grade zeolite and it is important to make sure that you use a zeolite which has been mined specifically for human consumption and is cleaned.

One zeolite powder company recommended pioneered Zeolite supplementation, 15 years ago,  and is one of the only companies in the world that use a mine specifically for human consumption.

This company cleans their zeolite using a cation exchange process and not acid. (Acid, I have come to learn, is one of the only things that can affect the integrity of the zeolite structure).

Almost all of the newer companies out there who do not know where to find zeolite mined for human consumption, nor do they know how to  process zeolite properly. So they use commercial grade zeolite to make the most money on their product.
