Do You Have  A Question About Zeolite?

Hello :- ) WELCOME to  Zeolite – Just ASK! I get lots of visitors here every day, and people have told me that they just have a simple question that they can not seem to get answers for on the internet.

That is the reason for Zeolite – Just ASK!

Shelley PenneyMy name is Shelley Penney. I am a Registered Nurse. I worked much of my career in an active Heart Intensive Care Unit. Eventually I realized that people coming in had been on the prescribed treatments, drugs, diet, therapy, for a long time, and they didn't ever get better! Almost nobody ever went on a heart drug, and followed doctor's order, and came back 2 years later cured. If they did come back it was nearly always when they were more sick, on more drugs, and with decreased health, than before.

This didn't make sense to me at first. Why doesn't anyone ever get better even when they do what they were told? Eventually I learned that maybe the problem was what they were being told. That thought led me to learn more about diet, meditation, supplements, and super foods.

I discovered zeolite in about the year 2007. Since then I have spent a tremendous amount of time learning everything I can about it. I authored an e-book on the topic  which you can read more about here "Liquid Zeolite – Its Not What You Think" If you have a question about zeolite, I almost always know the answer, or know who I can ask.

If you have a question about zeolite that you need an answer for, use the comment form below to ask your question. I will take time to answer it.

find zeoliteFirst search for your question. You can read everything. OR To search this page,  find the Ctrl tab on your keyboard in the bottom right hand (see the picture to the right). Hold it down and press the 'F' key at the same time. A little text box will pop up, and you can put a word in there and press enter and it will search the page for you. If you do not see your question answered, then scroll down to the bottom where the comment box is, and ask your question. I try to answer all questions with in 24 hours. FAQs about zeolite:

What is zeolite?  It is a mineral that has some interesting properties. It has a negative charge, and attracts positive charged ions. Since heavy metals have a positive charge, they bind like a magnet to metal. The scientific name for the one most used in nutritional supplements is clinoptilolite.

Is it safe? Yes. Clinoptilolite is listed on the FDA's GRAS (generally recognized as safe) list as a food additive. It does not have any side effects so that makes it quite attractive compared to traditional chelation drugs like EDTA and DMPS.

Does it work? Yes. Zeolite removes heavy metals and toxins.

I heard zeolite causes cancer. Is this true? There is a community in a desert area in Turkey where people are breathing in zeolite dust that is blown into the air by the wind. The people who live in these communities have a higher incidence of a rare type of lung cancer called mesothelioma. The type of zeolite that has caused this problem is erionite, and that is not the same zeolite that is in the environment in Turkey. If you decide to use clinoptilolite, you won't inhale it every day anyway. :- )

What is the proper  dosage? It depends on the product, and I recommend that you follow instructions on the label. For the more popular brands I have written some guidelines here "zeolite dosage"

Will I have a detox crisis while taking this? Most people actually do not experience a healing crisis when using this supplement. The heavy metal cleanse is different than traditional types of cleanses. Of course there are exceptions to the rule. If you think you may be experiencing a detox crisis, the first thing you should do is drink more water! Most of the things people think are side effects or healing are caused by not replacing the fluid you are losing during detox

Does Canada Customs Stop Zeolite From Being Delivered To Canadians? No. As a Canadian you are allowed to order supplements to be delivered to you for your personal use only. Unless the product has been approved by Health Canada you may not resell the product. If you are a reseller  you are not permitted to "cause a sale" to a Canadian, whether you earn commission or not. That means I am not allowed to tell you about brands. When you visit www.buy-zeolite.com, if you are visiting from Canada, you will get a warning. Health Canada Does Not Permit Me To Tell You About This Product.

Hi Shelley I have high cholesterol and diabetes and have prescriptions that I take every day. Can I still take zeolite?

    • admin

Hi Marilyn Zeolite seems to be safe to take with just about any medications. The exception is if you take a medication with heavy metals in it. Lithium (for manic depressive illness) and platinum containing drugs used as chemo agents could be removed by zeolite.

  • W Atkinson

Hi Shelley Is it ok to take zeolite with chemo?

    • admin

In most cases it is ok but I recommend 2 things… first, as always, if you aren’t sure about something related to your sickness, you should always check with your doctor first. He probably won’t know about zeolite but I can’t dispense medical advice to your case. Zeolite removes heavy metals so you need to check that your chemo drugs do not have platinum in them (carboplatin, cistoplatin or maybe others) If they do then remember that zeolite is in the body for 5-7 hours. Ask the doctor how long the platinum based drug stays in the system, and you can probably resume your zeolite after that drug is expected to be cleared.

  • Alison Watters

Hi shelley I have been taking zeolite for about a week now. I have fibromyalgia and I was hoping for some relief but I don’t feel much better. How long does this take?

    • admin

Hi Alison Thanks for your question. First, remember that zeolite isn’t a cure for anything. It removes heavy metals and toxins, so if the metals and toxins are causing your symptoms, then you may see some changes. I recommend you are on any natural supplement for at least 3 months before you decide it isn’t working. The metals and toxins take a while to build up, and therefore take a while to remove. It isn’t like a drug that treats a single symptom but never addresses the underlying issues. Zeolite always goes in empty and leaves with toxins that it picked up along the way. What ever you feel will be a direct result of that. :- )

  • Judy E

    Hi, Shelley,

What info do you have about AML and zeolite?

    • admin

Hi Judy There is a lot of information out there that would suggest that zeolite cures cancer, however I need to caution everyone against that. It is true that there are many testimonials out there about people who took zeolite and got better, but whenever you remove heavy metals and toxins and provide a healthier environment in your body there will be people that get better no matter what they are sick from. That is why the testimonials on zeolite are so varied.

I hope this answers your question. :- )

  • Jeanette Thompson

    Hi Shelly,
    I take 6-8 Esdifan daily.
do I need to take any other form of zeolite?
    Jeanette

    • admin

Hi Jeanette Thanks for your question. It depends on what you are taking the zeolite for. The Esdifan is a larger particle zeolite, and people take it to help with digestive issues like diarrhea. If you are looking for a zeolite supplement for detox and health outside of the digestive tract, the other capsule products by that company, and the powder are micronized zeolite powder and address other issues.

  • Louis

What is the cation exchange capacity of the powdered zeolite you are recomending?
Does Custom’s Canada allow zeolite powder to come into Canada?
    Thankyou

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Louis Thanks for your question. The CEC of the powder is 190. You can order any supplement into Canada (if it hasn’t gone through the approval process) for personal use (not for resale) and no more than 3 months supply.

  • Sandra Abrams

If someone has mercury fillings, will the zeolite release the mercury into the person’s body?

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Sandra Thank you for your question. Mercury vapor is released into you body, if you have mercury fillings, every time you eat or drink. See this video The zeolite traps mercury, draws it into the cage and removes it from the body. It doesn’t do anything to your fillings at all. It collects some of the mercury your teeth have been releasing/

I hope you find this answer helpful.

  • Sharon J

    Shelley,
Zeolite has helped me a lot. I am concerned about things I’ve heard about humeric acid, an additive in one of the products. Can you explain more about it, please.

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Sharon Thanks so much for your question. I guess first I need to ask you what you have heard? :- ) Here is a website where you can learn about the anti-viral and anti-bacterial and other health benefits regarding humic acid. There is actually WAY more scientific information supporting humic acid for health than there is on zeolite.

If you are talking about claims that products containing humic acid grow bacteria, those stories were fabricated to sell a product. I can’t find any truth in them at all.

I like the way you answer the questions that you are asked .Thank you for being YOU! Don B

  • Ann Marie P

Should zeolite be taken about 15 minutes before meals? I recall reading that somewhere, and want to be sure I am taking it when it would be most effective (on an empty stomach, or otherwise, etc..) Thanks!!

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Ann Marie Thank you for your question. It actually doesn’t make much difference when you take your zeolite. I mix mine right in with my oats every morning. If it is easier to mix it in water or juice and drink while you are preparing a meal, that’s fine as well. Either one works.
      Shelley

  • Don E

Shelley what is cation exchange capacity and what is the rating on your zeolite?

  • Zoe

Can you please tell me if Zeolite depletes iron in the body?

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Zoe Thank you for stopping by and asking your question. Zeolite does bind with iron, but it has an affinity for heavy metals such as mercury, lead etc first. In some studies, such as this one on baby calves, the addition of zeolite to feed actually increased the blood levels of iron, which may indicate that adding zeolite to your diet could actually help you absorb more iron. This longer term study using 2 different concentrations of zeolite, showed that even at higher concentrations, zeolite did not have adverse (bad) effect on copper, zinc or iron levels.

I’ve never heard of anyone having issue with iron depletion while taking zeolite.

      Hope you find this helpful.

  • Ray Shulund

Hi Shelly, I am interested in buying some product but would like to talk to you if possible by phone. I cannot locate your number and I am on the road on someone elses computer so my number is xxx-xxx-xxxx Thank you,RAY

  • Donald G Bartoto

I started a zeolite product from IVL .It is a liquid zeolite chelate 528.I purchased this product after I used the one that you used to sell . This looked promising but i,m noticing some discrepancies in the labeling .I am considering sending back for a refund so I can buy the zeolite crystals. What would be your suggestion Don B

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Donald Thank you for stopping by. The thing about that product, and a number of the liquid zeolite products is that the amount of zeolite isn’t listed, so it is difficult to know how much you are getting. I like being able to measure out an amount of zeolite powder. At least you know how much is in it right? But there is nothing wrong with trying a product, and then trying another to see how they compare.

      Shelley

  • Jim

    Shelley,

Can you think of any reason why you should not take Calcium Bentonite Clay within your stated seven hour period of time that Zeolite remains in the body?

    Jim

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Jim Thanks for your question. No, I can not think of any reason that zeolite would interfere with the bentonite clay, or vice versa.

      Shelley

  • joe

    Shelly,
    Does zeolite help reduce cholesterol?
    Thanks,
    joe

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Joe Thanks so much for stopping by! Zeolite does not do anything for cholesterol directly that I know of. There are some potential actions however. Zeolite removes heavy metals and toxins, which reduce inflammation. Inflammation is a major cause of high cholesterol. Also zeolite can help to balance pH, which can in turn reduce inflammation. If high cholesterol was the only reason to take zeolite, there are certainly other things that would be more direct than zeolite.

      Shelley

  • Ray Shulund

Hi Shelley, Are you aware of issues caring the powder on an airplane. Might have to carry tablest instead of loose powder? Is there a shelf life? Thanks Shu

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Ray Thanks for your question. I have never heard of anyone having a problem with powder. I know you can not carry liquids over a certain size, but powder I don’t think has been a problem. you could always call the airline and ask. While the zeolite doesn’t ‘go bad’, there is a 5 year expiry date on the bottles and canisters.

      Shelley

  • Kevin

Hi shelley does the zeolite powder have a taste to it thankyou kevin

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Kevin Thanks for your question! It doesn’t have a taste to it. Because it is a powder, it is a little chalky in water when you use an entire scoop, but I mix it in with my steel cut oats every morning and I can’t tell it is there.
      Shelley

  • Susan Masterton

    Hi Shelley,
I have found your e book very informative. I am interested in trying Zeolite for my son Cameron who has Autism. Of course I am nervous about giving him anything that may cause side effects. Please advise what kind of dosage you would reccommend we start with.

    Kind regards
    Susan

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Susan Thank you. I am glad it was of some use to you. As for your question, I asked the formulator of the product and this is what he said.

“Half of a scoop two times a day to start and see how he does. She can raise it to 3 times or lower it to once a day depending on what she is seeing. “

      Shelley

  • Jan

I brought the idea of using zeolite to my ND in Maine and this was her response:

    “Hi Jan,

I finally got the chance to investigate the Zeolite. I wouldn’t use it. It
acts only to attract heavy metals in liquids – it’s used a lot in wastewater
treatment. No human research to speak of. As for the affinity of it to lead
and mercury, there are many other products that work better in the
intestines, like plant lignins, which our bodies are more adapted to.”

Is there any response to this? More research?

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Jan Thank you for your question. Good for you for asking your doctor. I always recommend, when you are unsure, to check with your medical provider first. Zeolite is safe and non-toxic, but there will always be people who choose to use something else.

      Many Blessings,
      Shelley

  • Kris

    Hi Shelley
For long term consumption of the Zeolite powder, is there a risk of the powder being trapped in the linings of the stomach and intestines or will they all be expelled from the body completely?
    Thanks

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Kris Thanks for your question. I have not ever heard of zeolite accumulation being a risk, and this zeolite powder has been sold in North America for 15 years. There is risk of constipation because zeolite absorbs water, but be sure to drink lots of water, and increase fiber intake.

      Shelley

  • Krita Sellyk

Hi Shelley, Please tell me where your preferred zeolite powder is mined from and if it has the capability of eliminating any radioactive toxins from water. Thank you sincerely for your reply, Krita

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Krita Thank you for your question. The location of the mine is closely guarded. As far as radioactive toxins, natural zeolite has an affinity for, and will absorb elements such as strontium 90, caesium 137 and other radioactive isotopes from solution. That is why zeolite was used in the Chernobyl clean up. Let me know if you have any other questions Krita.

      Shelley

  • Claudia

Could you please address the issue of zeolite being used by those who have had organ transplants….in particular, liver transplant. I thought I had read something indicating that it is being used this way.

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Claudia Thanks so much for your comment. Here is what I think…
If I had an organ transplant I would not take ANYTHING unless it was OK’d by my primary care physician. Zeolite is safe and non-toxic, but any non-medical person can not advise on medical issues such as these. Anyone who does is being irresponsible.

  • James

This is not a reply.Does or can Zeolite dissovle compleyly? Ijust got some from a company in Wales, and there is alot of what is like grit at the bottom of the glass,is this ok? to swalloww.

    • Shelley Penney

Hi James Thanks for your question. Zeolite is a hard mineral. It does not completely dissolve in water, so when you buy a zeolite powder and stir it in water it is going to settle and there will be grit at the bottom. It the zeolite is properly micronized, that grit will be very fine. Having said that, there are different grades of zeolite. Since I have no way of knowing whether a company in Wales is selling commercial grade zeolite, or properly processing it for human consumption, I have no way of knowing what is in the bottom of your glass so I can’t tell you it is safe to swallow.

      Shelley

  • James

Thanks Shelley for your reply! The grit is really fine.

  • James

Hi! Shelley any info about Fulic acid & Humic acid

  • kevin

Hi shelley got an old mate who has lung cancer would you have any ideas thankyou kevin

  • Hi, Shelly! I just enrolled with your website to download your free eBook! Thanks a lot and I really appreciate it! I never hesitate to pick up a powder form of zeolite if I have to or want to use zeolite. Most of liquid zeolite are, I would say, rubbish.
I have a single query on taking powder zeolite. I am a ND and help cancer patints revive or survive through various naturopath treatments. One of such treatments is to use cesium chloride, rubidium chloride formula (by Angstrom Minerals Ltd in the USA) +ionized potassium formula (be Angstrom Minerals) which has been called “High-pH Therapy”(which was figured out and tuned up by Dr. Keith Brewer(American physicist)
and was therapeutically confirmed efficacy by German oncologist named Dr. Hans Nieper
for the periods 1970′s through 1990′s. If I recommend my patient(s) those who have taken these high-pH-liquid formula to start taking powder zeolite for detoxification
hevy metals etc, what will happen? My point is that I am concerned about possible reaction between zeolite and cesium chloride or rubidium chloride.
I would appreciate if you could advise me about my concerns.

    • Shelley Penney

Hello Seiji Thank you for your comment. The zeolite will not have a chemical reaction to cesium and rubidium, however the zeolite will remove these metal ions from the body.

      Shelley

  • Lynn Winkler

    Hi Shelley~

Thanks for the information you provide. I find it very helpful. I was just wondering if you still use the mushroom supplement, I think it was called H1N1, for fighting cancer from the same company that supplied the liquid zeolite that you used to recommend or do you recommend something in its place?

    Thanks again.

    Lynn

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Lynn Thanks for your note. I do not still use the mushroom product. I do not have any reason not to except that I have found so many inconsistencies with one product that it is hard for me to trust anything they sell. Who knows what the truth is? Better for me to stay away from them completely. There are a number of things you can eat to boost your immune system. Mushroom powders, and dehydrated mushrooms are readily available in the health food stores and on the internet, take vitamin D, eat spirulina and chlorella every day, take a tablespoon of purified fish oil (or flax seed oil) for Omgea 3 fatty acids, reduce acidity but eating mostly vegetables and high quality proteins, cut out sugar (real and artificial), processed foods, and especially the ‘white foods’.

      I hope this helps.
      Shelley

  • Karl

    Hi Shelley,

I was wondering about how long it takes for Zeolite to pull 40 years worth of toxins and heavy metals out of someones body; or in other words, how long does it take to get to a maintenance level? Thanks.

    -Karl

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Karl Thanks for your question. It is impossible to say for 100% certainty, so the rule of thumb we use is to stay 1-3 months on detox, before lowering the dosage to maintenance. If someone has an acute issue, or known heavy metal toxicity then they will stay on longer than someone who is very healthy.

  • Scott Mery

Hi Shelley, I have Multiple Sclerosis, 27yrs, do you know if there would be any interactions with the Betaseron (interferon-beta 1b) I take for the MS.
    Thanks for your help.
    Scott

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Scott Thank you for your note. To my knowledge, zeolite doesn’t interact with any medicines. There is a possible attraction to meds that have metals as a base such as lithium and platinum.

      Shelley

  • Shelley

    Hi Shelley,
Just got your latest update to the Zeolite book – thanks! Just a quick question. I followed the link provided for ordering and ended up on a website that (a) does not seem to be Waiora? and (b)offers a product that looks fabulous (i.e. the zeolite capsules with humus acid) but noticed there doesn’t seem to be any “liquid” zeolite on this site. I am just finishing up a previous order of liquid zeolite purchased through yourself and Waiora, but am now a little confused. Which products are best? I always thought the liquid zeolite from Waiora was the be-all and end-all. Please clarify, thanks!

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Shelley How great to hear from you! :- ) In The Zeolite Book that you downloaded, on the CONTENTS page you will see a link that says Why I No Longer Recommend The MLM Brand of Liquid Zeolite. Good reading, and you should read it before you order more. :- )

      Many Blessings,
      Shelley

  • LeRoy LeBeuf, DVM

Hi Shelly, In your new edition you state that zeolite is cleansed by a cation exchange. This, I believe is the process by which water “softeners: work. Ca++ is replaced by Na+ leading to a high sodiun (a metal) water. So what happens when the sodium is again exchanged for the heaver metals? Excessive sodium with water retention, etc.? Second question: I signed up for the MLM under you; how do I turn off my standing order? Thanks, LeRoy

    • Shelley Penney

Hello LeRoy Thanks so much for following along. :- ) In the cleaning process of zeolite the heavy metals are forced out, and exchanged for small amounts of potassium, sodium and magnesium. It is truly a minute amount. It isn’t even enough to need to claim it on a label, and certainly not enough to affect physiology. I hope this answers your first question satisfactorily.

As for the second question, call Waiora toll free 1-866-699-2467 and ask them to stop your autoshipment. You should also enquire about a refund if you have unopened product.

  • Jo

Hello Shelley. Thank you for making yourself available like this.

I’ve just received my tub of (Zeolite Powder) and am surprised to see that the word clinoptilolite doesn’t appear on it at all. Can you confirm that this product is 100% clinoptilolite? Or if it contains other zeolites, please can you tell me which ones, why and in what proportions they are present. In particular can you assure me that it contains no erionite? I am a little uneasy with your wording when answering the FAQ above “I heard zeolite causes cancer. Is this true?” Why don’t you just say that that is a different zeolite from the one in this product?

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Jo Thank you for your email. Yes it is clinoptilolite. It does not contain erionite. I didn’t say “it is a different zeolite from the one in this product” (in the FAQs above) because a)erionite may not cause cancer when eaten. It’s just that it isn’t eaten, nor has been studied. b) Any substance has the potential to cause cancer if you inhale it into your lungs every day for a lifetime. I am recommending that you dont do that with the powdered zeolite. Hopefully this makes sense

  • Hiram Ruiz

Hello Shelley;I am quite interested in your Zeolite Powder I would like to know if you have any clinical studies of renal function

before and after completing a full course with Zeolite.I would also like to know if anybody does renal function teste before and after.

Thaks for being avalable for our inquires.

    • Shelley Penney

Hello Thank you so much for your question. I don’t know of clinical trials anywhere, on any zeolite product, of renal function. Because this is a dietary supplement, and not a drug, there haven’t been clinical studies done.

It is my pleasure to make myself available. Thank you for taking advantage. :- )

      Shelley

  • Peter du Toit

    Hello Shelley,

Your kindness shines through when I read your responses to people – obviously the reason you originally became a registered nurse in the first place! Are you able to say if the (possible?)research done at the micronized level would explain that the Zeolite can reach those neural paths in the brain and the brain stem, spinal nerve sheath etc?

The reason is that I understand that Mercury likes to bury itself in cells and the lipid/fatty tissue and along nerve paths, so I understand Zeolite heavy metal toxin removal in organs like the fat protected adrenal glands, but for the people I want to help, including myself – I ask if you may be able to advise if it can do the job at those sites (even if it is slower that at digestive levels)

    God bless
    Peter

    • Shelley Penney

Hello Peter Thank you for your question (and your kind comments :- )

The zeolite particles do not leave the blood stream, however, of course it is believed that the zeolite can pull toxins from tissues including fat. The zeolite pull is quite strong for the metals, as it passes by the sites in the bloodstream. In order to know for certain, one would have to perform biopsies at the sites and of course that is not feasible, however anecdotal evidence suggests that zeolite can indeed remove metals from these sites.

  • Eberhard Schmitz

    Hello Shelley

Do have any cases that zeolite is effective in A.L.S. Patients

    • Shelley Penney

Hello Eberhard Thank you for your email. Zeolite removes heavy metals and toxins. There isn’t any disease that I am aware of that prevents the zeolite from doing that. So someone with A.L.S. will still be able to detoxify.

canadian question you said canada allows three months supply to come to canada for a 400 grm container i do not know the daily so it is imposible to know the dose for three months can you help me with the dose and math on that thank you don

    • Shelley Penney

Don Thank you for your question. As long as you order a reasonable amount it will not be questioned. You could use up to a canister a month or more depending on what you are taking it for. 3-6 canisters would not likely be questioned.

      Shelley

  • Edward

    Hi Shelley,
I’ve been using your Zeolite caps, taking them with a glass of water. I recently read a recommendation to open the
caps and pour the contents into a glass of water then drinking the mixture. What’s your comment about this procedure?

    Thanks.

    Edward

    • Shelley Penney

Hello Edward You certainly may open the capsules! May I suggest next time you purchase the powder canister? You will save a ton of money getting it that way, since you don’t mind the powder in liquid anyway. There are 88 full servings in a canister. !

  • Jo

Can zeolite remove beneficial minerals from the body such as magnesium, calcium and potassium?

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Jo Thanks for your question. Zeolite doesn’t remove Magnesium, Calcium and Potassium. The zeolite has such a stronger pull on other metals and minerals, that even if it did have a calcium or magnesium ion in the cage, it would release it the second it comes close to mercury, cadmium or such. This is called ionic exchange. In fact most zeolite products are preloaded with miniscule amounts of magnesium to stabilize the molecule.

    Does Zeolite help with Lupus?

    • Shelley Penney

  • Branko

Hi. I have been given a container of zeolite by a naturopath as cleanser, and highly recommended to use, at that. I started using it as instructed..but after a few times…I was fighting to go on using it because it tasted awful…almost like I was drinking something moldy..So my question is – does ALL zeolite taste like that or is there a powder that is devoid of taste. Thank you

  • Kelv Mougy

    Hello,

You stated on your ebook that Zeolite is not allowed in Canada, but the fact is I bought zeolite at the health store in Toronto yesterday. Any explanation for that (since your book has been edite recently)?

    Thanks.

    • Shelley Penney

Thank you for your question. There are 2 possible explanations that I can think of… and probably a lot of explanations that I can not think of. : -) First, the brand you purchased may have approval from Health Canada to be sold. OR second, the brand may be imported into Canada without Health Canada’s knowledge.

      Shelley

p.s. And a point of clarification. I did not say it is not allowed in Canada. I said it can’t be sold in Canada. We are still allowed to purchase products online and import, for personal use, up to 3 months worth. Importing for resale is an entirely different thing.

Shelley…..Do you know of any studies that have been done on asbestos and zeolite? Thanks…Darrell

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Darrell Thanks for your question. I do not know of any studies regarding asbestos and zeolite. I am assuming you are asking if zeolite removes asbestos. My best guess would be “no”. Asbestos is actually a fibrous form similar to zeolite. However, people with asbestos exposure also, almost universally, have heavy metals exposure, so zeolite is beneficial in this regard.

  • I suffer from multi chemical sensivity.what is the difference between you’re zeolite and that of Debra Lynne who has a website re:mcs. She is very pricy in products she promotes and I am not in a position @ this time to spend more than need b.Also I suffer from constipation will zeolite make it worse.

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Susan Thank you for your question. As to your first question, I do not know who Debra Lynne is. I can say if you are looking for a good zeolite product at the best price you may want to read the ebook I wrote. I give some recommendations at the end. http://www.theliquidzeolitebook.com/#register is the link.

Zeolite absorbs a certain amount of water. It can make constipation worse, but that is easily remedied, by drinking more.

Hi Shelley, I was wondering if my mother who is a smoker trying to quit; is Zeolite powder safe for her to take while quiting ? Also, is Zeolite safe to take with Methimazole to treat overactive Thyroid and Graves disease ?

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Denise Thank you for your question. Zeolite powder is quite safe, and much needed in someone who has been a smoker to help rid the body of heavy metals and toxins in the cigarettes. Zeolite does not have any reactions or interactions with any medications that I know of, with the possible exception of medications like lithium and certain chemo drugs made with heavy metals.

  • Jim

Just wondering. Do you know why Zetox is  marketed under a new Company (Regal) and not as a new product addition at Zeo Health? Same zeolite, same locatiion, same owner, two different companies?

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Jim Thanks for your question. I think it is probably because the Zetox product is being marketed a different way. i.e. He is going to be doing infomercials for Zetox and the commission structure for affiliates is a little different. I love that Micah is now offering a zeolite suspension product now. The industry needs a product they can trust, and because it is coming from him I can get behind it 100%.

As an aside, I was just over to visit your blog. Thanks for sharing some great information. If you ever wanted to write a unique article for ShelleyPenney.com send me an email. I would be glad to post one. :- )

I have had Shingles for 4 1/2 years and it is now chronic, and I have tried everything anti-viral without success. I have been taking Chlorella for over 15 years, and I eat an organic whole foods diet, so except for the Shingles Virus I have less toxins than most people. Will Zeolite get rid of the Shingles Virus or at least the Shingles symptoms, and how much of the powder should I take? I bought the Omica Organics Zeolite Liquid which I just received today and took the 55 drops a little while ago for the first time before going on the internet and finding your website. Is the Omica brand safe to take? If it is safe to take, then I will start using the powdered Zeolite from Buy-Zeolite.com as soon as I finish the Omica.   Thanks,  John

    • Shelley Penney

Hi John While I can not say that the zeolite will cure your shingles, zeolite is known to trap viral particles. At this point it sounds like you can’t lose. I have no reason to believe Omica is unsafe. You will get higher concentration per serving when you make the switch to the powder.

      Good luck!

  • Kim

    Hi Shelley,
My father has been diagnosed with advanced kidney cancer and ihis doctor has prescribed a mediation called Votrient that cuts off blood supply to tumors. As he has advanced case and needs to be on the medicine, I'm wondering if would be a good idea for him to also take Zeolite in addition. Certainly I will discuss this with his doctor. My main question is are you aware of anyone ever taking Zeolite in conjunction with the latest cancer drugs such as Votrient?
    Thank you
    Kim

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Kim Thanks for your email. I am so sorry to hear of your fathers illness. Unless his chemotherapy agents have metals (platinum) in them, I am not aware of any issues taking zeolite in conjunction. Many people do take it alog with conventional treatments.

Hi Shelley, I am currently taking Zeolite.  I was wondering if you had any information on how to administer to my pets?  I have heard it is safe for pets but have not really found any information on how much.   I would assume it would go by the weight of the animal.  I would appreciate if you could give me some direction.  I am sure others would be interested as well.
    Thank you so much !
    Denise

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Denise Thanks for your email. Without knowing which product you are using I can not say for certain. Probably the advice would be to go by weight. Don’t overly worry about the math. Zeolite is non-toxic. :- )

      Shelley

  • Denise

Thank you Shelley for the quick response !  I am using the powder form that is recommended on your website.

  • Nicole

    Hi Shelley,
I've read your book…..thanks!  I just wondered about a product out there that combines three different kinds of zeolite.  I believe the product is called Detoxilite3.  Do you think it is safe?
    Thanks,
    Nicole

  • Helen

    Hi Shelley
I have downloaded your book and will read it today. I came across this Aust company selling zeolite and was wondering if you have researched them and their product, as you say it is hard to know if they are good or not. safesalt.com.au
    Kind Regards
    Helen

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Helen Thank you so much for your question. I hope you enjoy the ebook.

There are a couple of concerns regarding the site and product you mention.
1st- they do not say how it is processed. In fact, they do not say much of anything at all about it. How big are the particles, where the zeolite comes from, how it is cleaned… or if it is cleaned.

2nd- It says this “The deposit consists of a deep uniform, high-grade Clinoptilolite Zeolite with the added advantage of being much harder and purer than most overseas deposits, making it much more suitable for any application”. This tells me that it is likely industrial grade zeolite and I wouldn’t trust it. Especially given the above.

      Is this your website?

      Thanks again for the note
      Shelley

    Hi Shelly
Can you suggest any safe suppliers of zeolite in Australia.
    Kind Regards

  • Peter

    Hi Shelley,
Would zeolite work on removing styrene from my body? I got tested for heavy metals and toxins, and even though my heavy metal levels were fine, I was really high on styrene. Do you know of anything that would help to reduce this level?
    Thank you,
    Peter

    Hi,
the zeolite seemsto be irritating my stomach, making my liver sore and increasing my jaundice. I've decreased my dose from 8 grams to 1.5 but still getting problems. Any suggestions?? thanks

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Sarah Thanks for your question. It is unlikely the zeolite causing these issues. Zeolite tends to soothe an acidic stomach, and it does not excrete through the liver at all. Zeolite also absorbs ammonia which is one of the waste byproducts filtered through the liver so it can theoretically relieve the burden on the liver. Look for other causes of these symptoms. Of course having said that, everyone is different, and I am not a doctor, nor can I diagnose medical issues, and especially not over the internet. I suggest you visit a medical professional like a doctor who practices holistic or natural medicine.

Let me know how you make out!

Does taking Zeolite interfere with any other supplements you take on a daily basis? Also I usually take Zeolite in
the evening just before I go to bed. Is it better to take it during the day? If taking more than 1 tsp can you take
it all at one time or is it better to space it out during the day?

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Debbie Thanks for your question. As far as we know, zeolite does not interfere with other supplements. It has the potential to remove colloidal silver, and other metal based supplements from the body. You can take it all at the same time. Zeolite, it has been said, circulates in the body for 5-7 hours, so taking it 3 times a day makes sense.

  • Michele

    Hi Shelley,
I was diagnosed by my Naturopath with Candidiasis.  It definitely requires a multi-faceted approach.  I do like all that I have read about Zeolite, although I haven't read much detail about Zeolite and Candida.  Do you have any information on this or can you point me in the right direction?  I have been taking the Zeolite powder 2-3x/day for the past two months and can tell that it is helping rid me of Candida. (I have intermittent dry rash on my inner thighs, although currently nothing)  Do you know how long I should take Zeolite for this purpose?  I thought I had read 3x/day for 3 months then 1x/day maintenance.  Does this sound familiar to you?
    Thanks for your work,
    Michele

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Michele Thanks for your question. I can’t give you a definitive time… you would have to ask your medical professional about that. If it were me, I would take it at that amount until the problem resolved. I do take a maintenance amount every day myself, and plan to always take it.

  • Debbie

The other question I have is do you know anyone that has been helped with Ashma by taking Zeolite?

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Debbie Thanks for your email. Zeolite doesn’t ‘help’ or ‘cure’ any one illness. It removes toxins and metals. What happens when the body is rid of that burden really depends on your own body. If it were me, I would try it and see. :- )

  • Beverly Bishop

    Hi Shelly,
My friends mother went to Mexico and picked up a Parasite. She has been so sick and has been in and out of the hospital for over a year. The doctors gave her strong antibiotics  and she is finally doing better. But, not out of the hospital.
    Could Zeolite help.

    • Shelley Penney

Hi Bev Thanks for your note. I am glad your Mother is starting to feel better. What a terrible way to end a vacation! Zeolite does help to alter the pH and create an environment that is not great for parasites, and I have read that people have used it for this, but have no first hand experience with it. The only way to know for sure is to try.

Let me know how she makes out!

    Hy Shelly,
I have found a natural ocuring  zeolite tuf in Slanic Prahova Romania, it's green and hard but cips easily and could be ground in to a fine powder and I was wondering if I could clean it by grounding it and submerging it in a saline solution to exchange the ions and then soak it and dry to be used internaly, could you please guide me so that i could clean the natural zeolite of metals and other negative things, thank's in advance and sory for bad inglish spelling, some pictures of the natural zeolite here:

    • Shelley Penney

Hello Dan Thank you for your email. I am a nurse. Give me the finished product and a lab result and I could tell you whether I would use it and/or recommend it to others to take internally. I am not able to tell you how.
